Is the operating cost of electricity for air source heat pump water heater units high?

Article source: Company News Responsible Editor: Guangdong Hepai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Publication time:2021-06-29

Air source heat pump water (heater) units are different from electric water (heater) units. Electric water (heater) units use electric heating pipes to directly convert electrical energy into thermal energy to heat cold water, with the highest electric thermal conversion efficiency of about 95%. But the electric energy consumed by the air heat pump water heater unit drives the heat pump to work, only playing a role in promoting the circulation of the heat medium. Due to the large amount of heat from the air entering the system, the energy obtained by the hot water is much greater than the electric energy consumed by the heat pump. The ratio of these two energies can reach 3-4 times or more, that is, the electric thermal conversion rate can reach over 400%. That is to say, the main energy source for heating water in the air source heat pump hot water (heater) system comes from the surrounding air. Using 1/3 or 1/4 of the electricity consumed by the electric hot water (heater) unit can obtain sufficient hot water, and the operating cost is obviously much lower than that of the electric hot water (heater) unit or electric boiler.

Our company has modern factories and multiple intelligent heat pump hot water unit production lines, which have achieved programmed assembly line operations and strict quality control in sections. The company has successively launched more than 60 specifications of air source energy-saving equipment, including household series, commercial series, low-temperature series, and special equipment series. While continuously expanding our own brand, Hepai Company also provides OEM services to multiple enterprises in the industry. We aspire to become a leading manufacturer in the industry within 5 years.
